Inspiration for School Day Series
As a little girl, my sisters and I always created imaginary characters and mimicked real ones. I wrote the shows and choreographed the ballads for us. These many memories along with my journals from days as a principal have given me lots of ideas for characters, as well as friends, relatives, and individuals I’ve worked with for stories. I find great pleasure in writing stories that will stimulate the imaginations of children, enchant, and thrill them through the use of simple words. I often revisit events and situations that happened at our school during my 19 years as principal. I also feature entertaining characters such as Hula the Big Tooth Monster in efforts of enticing and rewarding reluctant readers with stories that are funny and exciting.
